Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard the following matters:

Jabed Ali, aged 42 and residing in Russell Street, Oxford, was convicted of refusing to provide a sample for testing when directed to do so by an officer in Oxford on April 3 the previous year. He was directed to cover legal costs of £500 and an additional victim surcharge of £114. A driving disqualification of 18 months was imposed along with a requirement to perform 100 hours of community service within one year.

Benjamin Davies, aged 22 from Cherry Tree Way in Witney, admitted responsibility for two instances of drug-driving in an Alfa Romeo on Dry Lane in Witney on November 18 the previous year. He was ordered to pay £85 in costs plus a victim surcharge of £114. The court imposed 80 hours of unpaid work to be completed within 12 months and banned him from driving for 20 months.

Gary Woods, aged 39 from Manor Close in West Hagbourne near Didcot, pleaded guilty to operating a mobile phone while driving on Hagbourne Hill in Didcot on August 15 the previous year. He was directed to pay £85 in costs, an £80 victim surcharge and a financial penalty of £200. Six penalty points were also added to his driving record.

Ryan McClenaghan, aged 26 from Cleavers in Chinnor, admitted to racially or religiously aggravated harassment causing alarm or distress through words, writing or behaviour in High Wycombe on April 5 this year. He received a fine of £80.

Carl Bleach, aged 35 from Luther Street in Oxford, admitted to one charge of shoplifting in Oxford on December 5 the previous year involving goods worth £20. He also admitted to one charge of assault by beating committed in Oxford on February 27 this year. A 12-week custodial sentence was imposed, suspended for 12 months. He was additionally ordered to pay £85 in costs.

Richard Hamilton, aged 40 from Asquith Road in Oxford, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive language or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress alongside criminal damage in Oxford on September 25 the previous year. He was ordered to pay £85 in costs and must comply with requirements to attend appointments as directed by his supervising officer for up to 10 days.

Charlotte McCollin, aged 34 from Botley Road in Oxford, admitted to two counts of shoplifting in Oxford occurring on December 16 and December 23 the previous year. The combined value of the stolen goods totalled £390.86. She was fined £100.

Simon Faulkner, aged 58 from Angus Court in Thame, admitted to possessing an axe in a public area and using threatening, abusive or insulting language or behaviour intending to provoke unlawful violence in Thame on October 22 the previous year. He received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He must complete 12 months of mental health rehabilitation treatment and attend 12 rehabilitation sessions. He must also comply with directions to attend appointments for up to 12 days and the axe was ordered to be destroyed. Additionally, he was directed to pay £50 in compensation.

Racheal Ajibade, aged 50 from Western Crescent in Banbury, admitted to operating a vehicle without third-party insurance at the intersection of Farmfield Road and Springfield Avenue in Banbury on September 30 the previous year. She was ordered to pay £85 in costs, a victim surcharge of £56 and a fine of £140. Five penalty points were also applied to her licence.
