Sport Operations Ltd has submitted an application to South Oxfordshire District Council seeking to host live and recorded music, as well as to sell alcohol at The Football Field, located at Oxford Harlequins RFC, Horspath Sports Ground, Oxford Road, Oxford.

If approved, the licence would permit both live and recorded music and the sale of alcohol on the premises on May 16, between 3pm and 11pm.

Representations regarding the licence application must be submitted in writing by May 6.

Temporary traffic orders in Oxfordshire:

Swinbrook A road leading to the A40 will be closed to through traffic from April 20 to May 8 for ducting works for fibre broadband.

Charlbury An unnamed section of road towards Grammar School Hill, between 8 Wellington Cottages and 1 Collinsons Row, will close for fibre broadband works. Hixet Wood will close between the junctions of Woodfield Drive and Sturt Road B4022 for fibre cabling works.

Freeland Broadmarsh Lane (cul-de-sac) outside No. 95 will be closed to through traffic from May 5 to May 12 for power supply works.

Garsington Lower Road will see a temporary reduction in the speed limit from 50mph to 30mph over 190m for three weeks from April 22 to allow for electricity network upgrades.

On the B480 Chiselhampton Hill, a 300m section passing Marylands Farm will be subject to a 30mph speed limit, reduced from 50mph, from April 19 to April 29 for electricity upgrade works.

Bayworth An unnamed road between the junctions of Green Lane and Oxford Road will be closed for gas main replacement works.

The closure starts April 20 and is scheduled to run until August 14.

The alternative route is via Oxford Road, Foxcombe Road, Brumcombe Lane and Green Lane.

Milton Sutton Road, east of High Street and Milton Road, will be closed to through traffic for sewer pipe repairs from April 20 to May 18.

Cyclists and pedestrians will still be able to access the closed section.

A signed diversion via Sutton Road, Milton Road, Harwell Road, Sutton Courtenay Road, Park Drive and High Street, will be in place.

Compton Beauchamp and Woolstone A partial closure of byways open to all traffic (BOATs) Nos. 174/12 and 414/1, running north to south between the villages, will remain in place until the expected completion of improvement works in October 2026.

The restriction, which only affects the use of 4×4 and horse-drawn vehicles, commenced on April 1, 2026.

Faringdon The A420 between the Watchfield roundabout and the junction with the B4508 will be subject to a temporary reduction in the speed limit to 30mph from May 6 to May 21 for electrical ducting works.

Footpath closures in Oxford:

Greater Leys: Part of the footpath connecting Knights Road to the Kassam Stadium area will be closed daily until September 30, for gas mains diversion and infrastructure installation.

An alternative route will be signposted.

Blackbird Leys: The full section of the footpath to the rear of numbers 25–29 Knights Road will be closed until May 19, for electrical diversion works.

Additional closures:

Littlemore: Alice Smith Square will be closed in the southern corner from April 20, 2026 for 15 days to enable emergency gas mains repairs.

Temporary traffic restrictions and slip road closures:

Weston-on-the-Green: Temporary closures are planned for all slip roads at Weston-on-the-Green Interchange on the A34 for carriageway repairs and associated works.

The phased closures are expected to last approximately two months from April 25.

Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted either northbound on the A34 to Wendlebury Interchange (M40) and back, or southbound on the A34 to Islip Interchange (B4027) and return.

The order for the closures, in place from April 23, will remain valid for a maximum of 18 months, ceasing when works are complete.

Goods vehicle operator’s licence application:

Bicester: Andrews Tipper Hire Limited has applied for a licence to use Wendlebury Park Farm as an operating centre for 20 goods vehicles and no trailers.

Representations regarding the application must be made within 21 days of the notice.

Public footpath modifications and diversions:

Hailey: An order made on April 7, proposes to add a footpath to the definitive map and statement for Oxfordshire.

Representations or objections must be submitted by May 29.

North Leigh: Diversions have been confirmed for parts of public footpaths 19, 20, and 38.

The order, made on August 10, 2022 and confirmed on March 24 this year, allows the permanent diversion of the affected sections.
