A person out walking came across four young cats that had been left in a park in Northway on the morning of Friday, April 24.

The animals were discovered at Dunstan Park, sitting on a pad designed for puppies that had been placed under a tree.

Representatives from Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary indicated that two of the tiny felines were believed to be roughly eight to ten weeks of age. They were found pressed close to one another on the pad, looking startled but making no effort to run away.

Extensive attempts were made to find the other two young cats, though they have yet to be located.

The charitable organisation commented that the kittens appear to have been intentionally abandoned.

Although the full circumstances of the abandonment are unknown, workers are prioritising finding the two missing kittens and establishing whether their mother was with them and remains safe.

Members of the public who can identify these kittens or are aware of their former owner are asked to urge them to contact the charity.

The group stressed that no one will face blame, though if the mother cat is still in their care, she must be neutered to prevent similar situations occurring in future.

Those living nearby who happen upon the two absent kittens have been asked to get in touch with the charity so they can be reunited and kept safe.
