A giveaway is offering a single organisation the opportunity to receive a garden makeover worth several thousand pounds.
Blenheim Estate Homes has launched the scheme in Oxford alongside Wildflower Co, a firm that focuses on eco-friendly wildflower turf products.
This initiative fits with Blenheim Estate Homes’ commitment to generating positive effects for the local community surrounding its forthcoming Hill Rise project, which is due to launch in early May.
The winning submission will secure as much as 50 square metres of laid British-native wildflower turf, valued at £2,000, together with advice and assistance for ongoing upkeep.
Karis McMahon-Lane, property marketing manager for Pye Homes and Blenheim Estate Homes, said the partnership with Wildflower Co aligns seamlessly with their objectives as they introduce Hill Rise in Woodstock, their latest neighbourhood and most environmentally conscious development so far.
Charitable groups across Oxford, including educational institutions, voluntary organisations, and residential care facilities, may take part by submitting a 200-word explanation and a photograph of the space they wish to redesign.
Representatives from Wildflower Co, Blenheim Palace, and Pye Homes will make up the judging panel for the landscaping contest.
Charlie Davidson, commercial director at Wildflower Co, said the alliance with Blenheim Estate Homes captures what Wildflower Co stands for: making biodiversity achievable, functional, and significant at a local level. He added that they feel privileged to collaborate with the housebuilder on an initiative that not only enhances communities but also advances the wider aim of creating more robust, nature-abundant environments across the country.
The victorious group will additionally receive a Blenheim Palace bundle comprising three family annual tickets and afternoon tea for six guests, with a value of £723.
Ms McMahon-Lane observed that deciding on a winner would be tough given the potential impact of the prize.
She said they look forward to discovering about the remarkable local groups operating in their region. Choosing just one community transformation project will be difficult, though it will be exciting to see the space of the lucky recipient transformed once the turf is installed and flourishing in time for summer.
Wildflower Co, previously known as Wildflower Turf, uses techniques that are soil-free and grounded in scientific research to produce biodiverse turf designed for long-term success in diverse environments.
Entries must be submitted by May 24, with the winner scheduled to be revealed by May 31, and fitting planned for late June.
Blenheim Estate Homes is currently constructing Hill Rise, an environmentally conscious development of up to 180 properties in Woodstock.
The project will consist of a combination of two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom residences.
Building work is already in progress, with focus on sustainability, wellbeing, and thoughtful design, including 48 homes in its initial phase.
