A 45-year-old woman has lost her driving privileges after colliding with her vehicle while exceeding the legal alcohol limit and then leaving the scene.

Nicola Mansell, residing at Benmead Road in Kidlington, admitted to driving under the influence after the incident involving a Ford Focus occurred on the A44 at the Bladon Roundabout on the route from Oxford toward Woodstock on February 21.

Her breath analysis showed 70 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The motorist sustained no injuries in the collision, although emergency medical personnel and an ambulance were observed at the location as a precautionary measure.

She received a driving ban of 17 months and was required to pay a £300 fine, £85 in prosecution costs, and a £120 victim surcharge.

Mansell was offered the opportunity to undertake a drink-drive rehabilitation programme that could shorten her disqualification by 17 weeks if finished by March 18, 2027.

The court considered her guilty plea during the sentencing.
