Authorities from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service released guidance after an event occurred at a waste facility in the vicinity of Didcot.
Approximately at 12:50am on Wednesday, April 22, emergency services confirmed they were responding to an occurrence at the Sutton Courtenay Landfill site located on Appleford Road near Didcot.
This resulted in a smoke cloud forming, which community members might detect odor-wise, and officials recommended ensuring windows and doors remain shut.
The 290.5-hectare landfill facility began operations in 1980 and receives 350,000 tonnes of refuse annually along with 60,000 tonnes yearly of quarry back fill material and soil.
