Anyone heading to London on Oxford Tube buses this weekend can enjoy free return journeys if they are taking part in or cheering on runners at the London Marathon.

Runners competing on Saturday or Sunday, along with their supporters, simply need to display their race bib, number, certificate or any other 2026 official event documentation when getting on the coach to receive complimentary return travel from Oxford.

Oxford Tube operates services up to every 12 minutes, continuously throughout the marathon weekend.

Travellers can also look forward to an enjoyable trip courtesy of complimentary wireless internet, USB power points, individual tables and footrests fitted on every Oxford Tube vehicle, perfect for a relaxing ride to the capital and a comfortable trip back.

Chris Hanson, managing director of Stagecoach West and Oxford Tube, explained that the company takes enormous pride in backing the London Marathon annually. He said the occasion genuinely motivates them and they recognise the dedication needed for each mile. By offering free return travel, they aim to make the experience smoother and better so runners can focus on their achievement and have a calm journey home.

For the most efficient journey on race day, passengers should use the recently opened Acton Main Line station and change onto the Elizabeth Line travelling toward Canary Wharf, before continuing via the Docklands Light Railway to arrive at Greenwich and the starting area. Return journeys are available from London Victoria once the event concludes.

Competitors should account for extra travel time to reach their designated starting points and should check the Transport for London website prior to setting off.
