A person aged 26 has received formal charges after officers characterised a chase through Oxford as dramatic.

Authorities indicated that a vehicle failed to comply with commands to halt, leading police to pursue until both occupants abandoned the car and ran away on foot.

The pursuit concluded on Cowley Road at approximately 6:30pm on October 2nd following a brief chase.

Two people were detained at the time of the incident: an 18-year-old and a 26-year-old.

During an update provided on Monday morning, Thames Valley Police confirmed the 26-year-old had faced charges.

According to a spokesperson, the investigation continues and Michael McDonagh, 26, from Appletons, Wantage, received charges via postal requisition on April 2nd. He faces one count each of assaulting a police officer, failing to stop when instructed, operating a vehicle without a licence, and driving without insurance. He is scheduled to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on May 5th.

No injuries were recorded during the incident.
