Members of the public are being invited to provide feedback on a trial traffic regulation order aimed at addressing anti-social behaviour issues.

The order prohibits motor vehicles from using the A40 eastbound layby adjacent to Forest Hill at all hours.

Exceptions apply however for access required in connection with utility services and highway maintenance work.

The regulation, which commenced on December 12, 2025, seeks to prevent improper parking and behaviour that has created environmental health and safety issues.

A bicycle route passing through the location has also experienced problems related to these matters.

Residents have a six-month period to observe how the initiative performs.

Community members can submit their opinions through the consultation portal by 5pm on Friday, June 12, 2026.

An alternative location offering contemporary amenities is situated at the M40 Motorway services at Junction 8a near Oxford/Wheatley.

The experimental traffic regulation order enables the county council to implement the measure on a provisional basis.

This method is employed when anticipated effects remain uncertain, though implementation expenses are modest.

Authorities will be tracking outcomes throughout the trial phase.

Upon completion of the six-month timeframe, the council will evaluate the initiative, considering any expressions of support or concerns received.

The measure will subsequently either be made permanent, abandoned, or prolonged for an additional period not exceeding twelve months to permit further assessment and observation.

The county council will examine the responses and compile documentation for the Cabinet Member responsible for Transport Management as necessary.
