A set of ten tracks has been produced to pay tribute to young people who were cared for by Helen & Douglas House, providing solace to families who have lost a child.

The musical works emerged from The Keepsake Circle programme, running through the charity’s grief support services.

Each piece acts as a personal memorial to a child who has died, created alongside their relatives to safeguard the recollections, love, and unique personality of every young person.

Michaela Middleton, whose 14-year-old boy Finley died in May 2023 and had regularly attended the hospice, explained that the organisation had been vital for their family. She noted that everyone had shown tremendous compassion and assistance, not just to Finley but to their whole family. When Finley passed away, their entire existence fell apart. They wanted their song to capture the things Finley achieved and how he lived. Taking part in this venture had been a privilege. Having the opportunity to remember their son Finley through music was extraordinary. She thanked Helen & Douglas House, Kiki and Angus for this wonderful experience. This had changed their grieving process, and Finley would live on forever through this song.

Every family worked together with the charity’s grief support experts and The Keepsake Circle’s Kiki Deville and Angus Powell to convert their memories into music.

Kiki Deville, who is herself a mother who has lost a child, said that building connections with these young people through the tales shared by their extraordinary families was both a privilege and an honour. She explained that this was her son Dexter’s inheritance, and she took great pride in being able to keep his memory alive through this work.

Sally Hayes, head of nursing and care at Helen & Douglas House, stated that collaboration with The Keepsake Circle offered an extra choice in their grief support methods, allowing them to reach more families and provide improved help to those who might not otherwise be able to access their services. She said that spending time with families during the emotional afternoon when they first heard the songs performed live in memory of their children was extremely touching.

The album, titled Keepsake Circle: Helen & Douglas – Part 2, can be listened to or purchased through Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, and Amazon.

Released on April 6, 2026, it serves as a lasting tribute for families and offers a way for others to support the hospice.

All revenue from the album will go to Helen & Douglas House.

This project forms part of the charity’s wider grief support, which provides both emotional and practical help to parents, brothers and sisters, and grandparents for as long as they require.

Most of these services depend on charitable donations for funding.
