Workers at Cottsway Housing have gathered £6,500 for Sobell House Hospice via a range of activities including prize draws, trivia nights, betting games, and confectionery stalls.

Sobell House delivers specialist palliative treatment and support for those approaching the end of life to adults across Oxfordshire who are managing conditions that cannot be cured.

Charley Watts, corporate relationships fundraiser at Sobell House, said the team was truly amazed by the generosity and support provided by Cottsway Housing over the past twelve months. She explained that backing from organisations such as Cottsway allows the hospice to sustain its services for those who will need help in future years.

The contribution would be enough to fund more than 267 hours of specialist nursing care.

Operating out of Witney, Cottsway manages roughly 6,000 homes across West Oxfordshire and offers support to over 13,000 customers.

The group promotes social value by connecting with local communities and taking part in charitable work.

Each year, staff members submit suggestions and vote to decide which charity will receive backing through the Cottsway Charity Committee.

Alex Hart, chair of the Cottsway Charity Committee, noted that through connecting with customers and neighbouring communities, the team sees firsthand the difference that groups such as Sobell House bring. He added that every activity, donation, and contribution helps make a real difference, and he takes great pride in what has been achieved together.

Committee volunteers give up their time to organise fundraising events for the chosen cause.

For the 2026-27 period, Cottsway staff have selected Oxfordshire Mind as their yearly charity partner.
