A Pride celebration is returning to Banbury this spring.

The event is planned for May 30 in the town centre, providing locals with a day of live entertainment, information displays, and activities for every age group.

A dedicated team of volunteers is coordinating the festivities, aiming to boost recognition, comprehension, and endorsement for LGBTQ+ individuals.

The Banbury Pride volunteer committee commented that the event centres on bringing townspeople together.

It presents a chance to celebrate the community’s character – welcoming, tolerant, and encouraging – while recognising that belonging is not automatic for everyone.

Coming together also means advocating for those who need our help.

Tragically, transgender rights are being curtailed and threatened both in Britain and worldwide.

Being transgender is currently alarming, and the group will challenge the far-right’s anti-trans agenda whenever possible.

The gathering will feature a diverse roster of artists from the local area and further afield.

There will also be opportunities for enterprises and organisations to get involved and show their support.

The organisers are looking for contributions from nearby companies to fund performers, equipment, and activities.

Individuals wishing to entertain, operate a booth, or coordinate activities can now send in their proposals.

The Banbury Pride volunteer committee noted that they are delighted to be back and eager to welcome everyone and mark Pride again.
