A retailer based in Oxford with several branches has broadened its reach by opening a shop in Thame, demonstrating its dedication to town centre shopping districts.

The UOE group runs 40 outlets offering stationery, postal services, and gifts across the southeast of England. The company has introduced a new store called Stamp on Thame’s main shopping street.

This new enterprise occupies the premises formerly operated by Glynswood of Thame, a family-run arts and crafts business.

The company has outlined its goals as breathing fresh energy into the shopping district while retaining the experienced retail team, the property’s original features, and the existing range of products.

Elliot Jacobs, the company’s chief executive, explained that the traditional shopping street still has potential and merely requires businesses willing to make real investments in its future. The company is putting significant resources into this special town centre location to create an energetic, welcoming atmosphere that builds community bonds and celebrates Thame’s unique independent character. The workforce remains fundamental to the business, and the company looks forward to building on the relationships established over many years.

The firm intends to modernise the shop’s interior, stock items from local suppliers and makers, and reinstate the upstairs community space within twelve months. The venue will accommodate community events, artistic workshops, and possible partnerships with visiting creatives.

The new outlet is at 11 High Street in Thame and opened on Thursday, April 16.

UOE has been trading since 1983 and has earned recognition for its postal services, stationery, and greeting card operations, including running the Post Office and stationery store in St Aldate’s, Oxford.
