The well-known TV star admitted she nearly put her audience at risk with a meal she was making.

The cooking specialist acted as a judge during the show’s time on the BBC between 2010 and 2016, before it moved to a different broadcaster.

She has made her home in Henley, located in southern Oxfordshire, alongside her husband Paul Hunnings since 2019.

The nonagenarian recently shared in a discussion with the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden that she nearly accidentally harmed viewers with a recipe.

She explained that while filming a television programme, she considered including small daffodils in the dish. However, a colleague investigated the idea and prevented her from doing so, as the flowers are toxic. She advised checking that ingredients will not endanger people.

Daffodils possess substances that can prove harmful to people as well as to companion animals including dogs and cats.

Ingesting portions of the plant may result in symptoms like feeling sick, being sick, diarrhoea, and abdominal discomfort, while the bulb in particular can cause irritation to the mouth and disrupt the digestive system.
