A participant from Clarkson’s Farm has discussed an incident that occurred away from the cameras which she labelled as nasty.

Harriet Cowan, who comes from Derbyshire, appeared as a fresh face during the programme’s latest series. The season launched on Prime Video across May and June the previous year.

At age 24, she filled in for regular cast member Kaleb Cooper during his touring commitments, helping Jeremy Clarkson manage the farm enterprise located in Chadlington, Oxfordshire.

She left the programme partway through the series once her help was no longer necessary, although audiences quickly developed an affection for her limited involvement.

Earlier in February of this year, Ms Cowan revealed that she needed urgent hospital treatment after cutting off the end of one of her fingers.

She wrote on Instagram at that time that she apologised for the silence. She explained that it had been a challenging week and that she had an encounter with a log splitter that resulted in losing the tip of her finger. After a quick procedure, doctors reattached it. Lambing season was now underway. She thanked the outstanding staff at Pulvertaft Hand Clinic.

Ms Cowan revisited the matter during a conversation with The Times published on Wednesday, April 15.

She recalled that she had a rather unpleasant accident at the start of the year. A piece of wood dislodged from the log splitter and struck her finger, removing the tip.

She mentioned that this particular finger will never grow a natural nail again, though she also disclosed that she is missing a nail on the neighbouring finger after a sheep inadvertently tore it off.

The agricultural programme is scheduled to resume on Prime Video next month for its fifth series, with production wrapped up in September 2025.
