A man from Oxfordshire has been jailed after producing hundreds of online videos about a woman, leaving her afraid for her safety.

David Carron, who lives on Fane Drive in Berinsfield, Wallingford, faced sentencing at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday, April 14.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of stalking without causing harm, one count of stalking resulting in fear and distress, sharing an intimate image without consent, and common assault on an emergency worker.

Alexandra Bushell, the prosecutor, outlined that the initial harassment campaign was directed at his ex-partner and took place between December 2022 and March this year.

The court heard the couple had been together for around 15 years, during which physical violence occurred.

By the time Carron began harassing her, they had been apart for approximately five years.

He sent her insulting communications, claiming her daughter was his. In a TikTok message he expressed that she still had feelings for him and that he was the only one for her.

The second complainant was a woman from his local area. The court was informed he became fixated on her after she purchased cigarettes for him at a Co-op outlet.

He dispatched multiple Facebook connection requests and was seen loitering near her home.

He created more than 300 TikTok clips about her, making false claims that they were in a romantic relationship. Ms Bushell informed the court that the woman reported being very frightened about what he might do to her.

A victim personal statement was read aloud in court.

In it she described experiencing the most frightening and traumatic events of her life. She explained that she keeps thinking about what could have happened next and that the fear has taken over her life. She stated that every night she cries herself to sleep. She said she is still afraid of what he has done to her and that she will never be the same again. She described it as having severely impacted her career. She explained that she is now very cautious around men as a result of Carron’s behaviour.

The court was told Carron has 11 prior convictions covering 17 offences.

The common assault happened when he spat at a custody officer at Abingdon Police Station on March 9.

Defence barrister Kelly Purcell-Chandler told the court Carron had posted a total of 347 videos. She explained that he had expressed remorse and that his mental state had deteriorated since 2024. Ms Purcell-Chandler began listing some of Carron’s previous convictions, but he interrupted her, declaring he no longer wanted her to act for him.

Judge Ian Pringle KC stated that Carron had caused the two women significant distress in their lives and that he must ensure he never encounters them again.

Carron was sentenced to 29 months imprisonment and given a 10-year restraining order.
