A chef decorated with Michelin stars has landed a TV position after departing from a celebrated Cotswolds pub.
Sally Abé has featured regularly on TV through appearances on James Martin’s Saturday Morning programme broadcast on ITV. She also triumphed in the banquet starter category of the 2025 Great British Menu contest.
The 38-year-old cook departed from her role at The Pem in London during the previous spring and subsequently took up the position of culinary director at The Bull in Charlbury.
The year 2025 proved triumphant for the Cotswolds venue, as it was named the country’s leading pub by Pub and Bar Magazine.
Following Ms Abé’s appointment, The Bull also became the only Oxfordshire establishment featured in Time Out’s ranking of the United Kingdom’s premier 20 restaurants.
The TV personality concluded her time at The Bull in January and announced her departure through her Instagram account.
It has now emerged that Ms Abé has secured a fresh television role, returning to Great British Menu as a judge.
Great British Menu posted footage of the chef on their Instagram page alongside the text: New veterans in the house.
Ms Abé is getting ready to open a new restaurant called Teal in Hackney, London, having made the announcement through her Instagram page.
She mentioned that the restaurant she had been dreaming about for two decades was finally becoming reality.
Launching Teal held deep personal meaning for her. This was the first establishment she had created entirely on her own, and she felt immense pride in that achievement.
After years of working for other businesses and kitchen environments, this represented her opportunity to stamp her identity, values, and perspective onto a space that was truly hers.
Teal by Sally Abé intended to celebrate British cookery at its finest, its heritage, flavours, and stories, while championing women, supporting worthwhile causes, and building a restaurant rooted in its local community.
She looked forward to welcoming diners in Hackney and showcasing the result of her hard work.
