A delivery driver from Bicester passed away due to an acute cocaine overdose, according to details revealed during an inquest hearing into his death.

James Donald was 33 years old when he passed away on Skimmingdish Lane in Bicester on January 31 of this year.

The inquest hearing commenced at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court on Thursday, April 9, before area coroner Mr Nicholas Graham.

The court was told that the driver, who was originally from Oxford, was discovered on the lane at approximately 11pm.

Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service confirmed his passing at 11.06pm that evening, with reports indicating “he was found deceased with no life saving opportunities”.

Following a post-mortem examination, his medical cause of death was recorded as acute cocaine toxicity combined with bronchopneumonia and alcohol misuse.

The complete inquest will take place at the same court on July 20 this year at 10am.
