A Miller & Carter restaurant in the vicinity of Oxford has paused its activities for roughly a month.

The venue on Bicester Road in Kidlington stopped trading on Monday, April 13, and is presently undergoing improvements.

According to information from the restaurant, it is expected to welcome back customers on Friday, May 8.

The announcement stated that with this notice, the current Miller & Carter Kidlington has concluded its operations in its existing form. Diners were asked to monitor their social media updates and stories for information about activities during the closure and updates about what lies ahead. The message expressed hope that guests have a pleasant time during the refurbishment period and anticipation for returning to the revamped establishment.

Miller & Carter mentioned that the nearest functioning restaurant to Kidlington is located in Didcot.

The Kidlington venue first opened its doors in December 2016, taking over the premises formerly occupied by the Kings Arms Harvester.

Phil Urban, chief executive of Mitchells & Butlers (the company that owns Miller & Carter), recently revealed that the purchase price for steak from suppliers has risen by 30 percent.

He said certain competitors have eliminated steak entirely from their menus. Where steak is not the main focus, the company has either reduced the range of beef and steak products or redesigned the menu. He emphasised that quality of meat and portion sizes remain non-negotiable, and that passing the full extent of increased costs to customers is not possible.
