A residential college for teenage boys in Oxfordshire has received worldwide recognition for its educational excellence and standing, earning a spot on a prestigious global list.

Radley College, found on Kennington Road in the Abingdon area, operates as an establishment with conventional values for boys between 13 and 18 years old, and has drawn commendation from the international community for its standards.

The institution secured a position on the Spear’s Schools Index 2026, which ranks the 100 top independent schools worldwide.

Radley College operates as a traditional boarding academy located near Abingdon.

Its appearance came alongside Cothill Prep School in Abingdon, both forming part of the Radley Schools Group, an organisation that includes eight educational establishments across the country.

A spokesperson for Radley College remarked that the institution was delighted to feature alongside Cothill, one of their preparatory schools within the Radley Schools Group, in the 2026 Spear’s Top 100 Schools Index. This recognition highlights not only their robust academic achievements and strong sense of community but also their wider commitment to nurturing versatile, inventive, resolute, and thoughtful young people. Such recognition demonstrates the dedication of their teaching staff, the enthusiasm of their pupils, and the support of their wider community.

The Spear’s Index, now in its sixth iteration, features institutions from Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Abu Dhabi, Luxembourg, and the United Kingdom, assembled through discussions with multiple educational consultants and experts collaborating with the Thuso group.
