Two primary school pupils are helping raise money for their school by creating and selling loom band bracelets.

Immy and her fellow student Mya, who both attend Year 4 at Mill Lane Community School in Chinnor, began selling the colourful bands to support their school’s Early Years Outdoor Learning programme.

The two have now set themselves a secondary target of building the longest possible loom band chain, with the aim of obtaining further sponsorship backing.

Immy’s mother, Becki Lacey, said she feels tremendously proud of them and thinks they merit more support from the community. She added that it gives her great pleasure to see them gathering funds for their school and wanting to make a meaningful contribution.

All donations will go toward improving outdoor learning facilities for the youngest pupils at Mill Lane School’s Early Years Outdoor Learning programme.

Outdoor activities and exploration form a vital part of the Early Years curriculum, helping children develop physical skills and confidence through hands-on play.

The project aims to fund safety surfacing and synthetic grass, weatherproof storage units, and open timber structures designed to encourage creativity and imaginative play.

Ms Lacey noted that each gift will help create a space that sparks curiosity and builds self-assurance, supporting early years education.
