Stagecoach has issued a response following rises in UK fuel prices.
Data indicates the average diesel cost at British filling stations reached 184.2p per litre on Wednesday, representing a 29 percent increase since conflict escalated on February 28.
Standard petrol has risen to 153.7p per litre, a 16 percent climb during the same period.
The transport firm, which operates services across Oxfordshire, has pointed out that taking the bus offers a cost-effective option relative to driving privately.
Chris Hanson, managing director of Oxford Tube and Stagecoach West, explained that Easter ranks among the best times to travel, and with their updated route network, passengers can better discover what both cities have to offer. As fuel prices stay high, bus journeys provide a budget-friendly alternative. Their charges are clear, there are no hidden costs, and frequent departures enable families and visitors to spend an entire day out without worrying about petrol, parking or congestion fees.
Oxford Tube has stressed it is now more convenient and cost-effective for journeys between the two cities.
Running continuously throughout the week, the Oxford Tube connects Oxford’s central Gloucester Green area with key London locations including Victoria, Marble Arch, Notting Hill Gate, Shepherd’s Bush and Acton Main Line.
Stagecoach calculates that selecting the Oxford Tube for London journeys can spare families between £25 and £44 per trip, while eliminating the hassle of traffic, parking and city congestion.
According to the company, four return fares on the Oxford Tube amount to £56.50, whereas a 120-mile round trip to the capital would cost between £85 and £100 when factoring in fuel, parking and congestion charges.
A Stagecoach representative noted that with services leaving up to every 10 minutes and no advance reservation necessary, the Oxford Tube offers the adaptability required for last-minute Easter breaks. Travellers can join and leave at many convenient stops, enabling them to plan their own schedule, whether for retail therapy, cultural attractions or family entertainment.
