Stagecoach West is encouraging families to explore Oxfordshire’s visitor spots by bus during the Easter break.

The transport operator is promoting car-free trips to destinations across the county as petrol and diesel expenses keep rising.

The company has highlighted Blenheim Palace, Cogges Manor Farm, Oxford Castle and Prison, and The Light cinema in Banbury as top venues accessible by public transport.

Chris Hanson, the managing director of Stagecoach West, said that news sources are reporting average diesel costs have risen by 20 pence per litre over the past couple of weeks, which is causing many families to look for other transport options for day trips. He added that by choosing to leave the family car at home and travel on a Stagecoach service, passengers can relax, cut costs and make the journey itself part of the experience.

Travel passes can be obtained by purchasing directly from the driver, using the Stagecoach Bus App, or buying at marked stops along the routes.
