A full year has elapsed since a music industry icon visited Jeremy Clarkson’s rural business in the Oxfordshire area.

The celebrated drummer from Status Quo, John Coghlan, was spotted drinking with his wife and a friend at The Farmer’s Dog pub near Burford in April of last year.

The watering hole, previously known as The Windmill, was purchased by Clarkson for roughly one million pounds and opened its doors to customers in August 2024.

Coghlan, a local resident, posted a photograph showing himself with his wife Gillie and their companion standing in the doorway beneath the tractor hanging from the rafters.

On social media, Coghlan, who shares Clarkson’s passion for cars, spoke about his friendship with the presenter and his regular visits to the establishment because it is close to where he lives.

He said that Gillie and he had a wonderful evening at The Farmer’s Dog, Jeremy Clarkson’s venue.

The famously moustachioed musician was one of the band’s original members and toured extensively as part of their famous lineup during their most successful period in the 1970s, playing to packed venues worldwide and topping the charts repeatedly.

He played drums on their biggest hits, including the 1975 number one Down Down and Rockin’ All Over The World.

Clarkson’s Farm’s fifth series is set to launch on Prime Video next month, which is one year after series four arrived.

Eight brand new episodes are expected, continuing to give viewers an insight into the running of Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington as well as the countryside pub.
