The case against a man in his sixties facing sexual assault charges has advanced with a trial date now scheduled.
Zion Zion, residing on Bierton Road in Aylesbury, had been expected to attend Oxford Crown Court via video connection from a medical facility on March 30.
The 65-year-old defendant faces two counts of sexual assault stemming from events that occurred in Oxford on January 7, 2023.
Zion has declined to participate in the legal process thus far and failed to make an appearance during the video conference.
Because of his unwillingness to engage with the proceedings, Zion currently has no legal representation.
At the most recent court session, pleas of not guilty were submitted on the defendant’s behalf.
Justice Hassan Khan established a trial date of November 22, 2027, with proceedings anticipated to span three days.
In the interim, an assessment will be prepared to determine whether Zion is capable of conducting his own defense.
