A notice has been put out regarding a significant portion of the Oxfordshire A34 that will be shut down this evening for grounds maintenance.
OxonTravel, a traffic service operated by Oxfordshire County Council, issued the notice earlier today (Monday, March 30) informing motorists that the southbound lane of the route will be blocked between the Hinksey Hill and Marcham junctions.
The restriction runs from 9pm tonight until 6am on Tuesday morning (March 31), with National Highways stating it is for “horticultural work.”
This is not the only portion of the route affected tonight, as the northbound slip road at the A34 Lodge Hill junction, situated between Abingdon and Oxford, will also be closed.
This closure is due to developer work.
Additionally, the A34 southbound Chieveley carriageway will be sealed off between the exit and entry slip roads, located just south of Oxfordshire.
