Police in Oxfordshire have arrested someone on suspicion of drug-impaired driving.
Officers from Thames Valley Police stopped a vehicle on the evening of Saturday, March 28, in Woodstock following concerns about defective headlamps.
The vehicle was found to have a strong smell of cannabis, and after a drugs test came back positive, the motorist was arrested.
A spokesperson for the road safety unit explained that officers carried out a vehicle check on a car with broken lighting in Woodstock.
The spokesperson added that the vehicle smelled of cannabis, the driver underwent a drug test which proved positive and was then taken into custody.
Driving while under the influence of illegal drugs is a criminal offence, and those found guilty face immediate disqualification from driving, significant fines, and possible imprisonment.
