Oxfordshire offers diverse settings ideal for production crews, ranging from the charming villages of the Cotswolds to the storied buildings found throughout the county’s historic areas.

A collection of images has been assembled showcasing the various Oxfordshire locations that have served as backdrops for television and film productions over time.

Among the most significant projects undertaken in Oxfordshire was the James Bond film Spectre, which utilized Blenheim Palace in Woodstock to portray the Palazzo Cardenza in Rome.

The county has also provided settings for numerous historical television series, including the BBC’s adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall, with portions shot at Chastleton House in the Cotswolds.

The Cotswolds communities have frequently been selected as production locations due to their historic character, including the villages of Brill, Broadwell and Castle Combe.
