Cotswold Wildlife Park is celebrating more than 50 years of operation after first opening to the public in 1970.
The attraction was established by John Heyworth at the Bradwell Grove Estate and received its inaugural visitors on Good Friday, March 27, 1970.
The park began with 341 animals and now provides sanctuary for over 1,500 creatures representing 250 different species.
A park spokesperson said the team welcomes everyone to celebrate 56 remarkable years and expressed thanks to visitors for their ongoing support throughout the decades.
The statement continued that the park values the backing received over more than 50 years.
Starting from modest resources, the site has since expanded to feature giraffes, which arrived in 2010 to commemorate the 40th anniversary, alongside rhinos including D’ora, which received its name during the 50th anniversary commemorations in 2020.
George the Aldabra giant tortoise remains the only surviving creature from the original collection.
To mark the 50th anniversary, keepers prepared a special cake for him during the lockdown period.
