A parliamentarian has expressed support for fresh funding aimed at enhancing childcare facilities.

The Labour representative for Oxford East, Anneliese Dodds, stated that the investment would contribute to strengthening early childhood learning in her area, providing youngsters with an improved foundation and increasing childcare availability for parents. She commented: “I’m pleased the Labour administration is making changes and expanding nursery services locally.

Together with complimentary breakfast programs for primary school children and the recent expansion of fee-based childcare options, these initiatives will create meaningful change for numerous youngsters and their families in Oxford East. Studies demonstrate that the early years period offers the greatest opportunity to impact children’s future outcomes.

Strengthening services and assistance for young people and their families during these crucial developmental years will stay central to Labour’s mission.”

Financial support has been confirmed for creating or growing childcare spaces at three schools—John Henry Newman Academy, St John Fisher Catholic Primary School in Littlemore, and Tyndale Community School.
