A speeding case involving a man from Slough was dismissed after officers recorded his vehicle traveling at 87mph in an area bordering Oxfordshire.
The defendant, Ali Abbas, aged 39, resides at Flat 2, Blake House, Bishops Road in Slough. He faced accusations of driving above the 70mph limit on the M4 motorway between junctions 6 and 7, in violation of the Motorways Traffic (Speed Limit) Regulations 1974.
Prosecutors claimed that on August 14, 2024, Abbas was operating a Vauxhall with the registration DV68KRK at 87mph on the motorway stretch. The speed was captured by an automated enforcement camera. Thames Valley Police initiated the proceedings, with Kathleen O’Callaghan handling the prosecution. The matter was scheduled for judicial review. However, the allegation was dropped prior to any determination at Slough Magistrates’ Court on October 2.
