A pair of drug traffickers have received prison sentences for their involvement in running a county line operation in Oxfordshire.

James Alder and Brendon Shamu received their sentences at Oxford Crown Court on March 27.

Alder, aged 21 and residing on Limborough Road in Wantage, along with Shamu, aged 27 and living on Field Gardens in Steventon, Abingdon, both faced charges related to drug dealing activities in Abingdon spanning from October 1 of last year through January 23 of this year.

Both defendants acknowledged guilt regarding involvement in supplying class A substances, specifically crack cocaine and heroin.

Shamu additionally admitted to holding criminal property, comprising £8,795 in currency.

The court was informed they operated a county-level narcotics network identified as the Dior Line.

Shamu was characterized as occupying a senior position within the operation, while Alder was labelled a “trusted runner.”

Mr. Justice Hassan Khan observed that the line distributed adulterated substances.

The court was told that during a one-week period when Shamu was absent, Alder maintained control over the line.

Upon their arrest, authorities recovered crack cocaine valued at £1,440. Additionally, contaminated heroin with an estimated value of £2,000 was seized.

The judge remarked on Shamu’s substantial involvement, stating: “You were clearly the main player here.”

Regarding Alder, the judge commented: “I observe you were a trusted runner for the line.”

Shamu received a combined sentence of 49 months, while Alder was sentenced to three years.

Orders were issued for the confiscation and destruction of the narcotics, associated equipment, mobile phones, and currency.
