Four students have earned certification after completing a comprehensive development programme.
Eliza, Isaiah, Josh, and Leigha, members of Ash class at Oaklands School, achieved the bronze award in the ASDAN Personal Development Programme, which supports young people in building personal, social, and career skills through structured activities.
This qualification enables learners to gain nationally recognised awards by completing challenges designed to strengthen confidence, independence, and practical knowledge.
Georgios Chatzakis, executive headteacher at Oaklands School, stated that the accomplishment marks an excellent result for these four students, and the whole Oaklands community celebrates and takes pride in their remarkable achievements.
He noted that the upper school students serve as excellent role models for younger pupils, and their success illustrates what can be achieved through commitment, perseverance, determination, and a readiness to learn.
The quartet completed 60 hours of work across 12 different subject areas.
Learners shared positive remarks about the course, describing it as highly enjoyable and explaining that it helped them develop creative abilities and self-sufficiency.
One student mentioned that ASDAN is extremely fun and allows them to engage in many creative activities.
Another student observed that ASDAN has boosted their confidence to operate with greater independence.
The school also expressed appreciation to the Ash Team, recognising class teacher Chris Hoggarth, senior teaching assistant Rhys Tyler, and support staff Claire Bailey and Olivia Mills.
