The King is travelling to Oxfordshire this Friday afternoon, March 27.

The 77-year-old sovereign will inspect the facilities of Oxford Photovoltaics, situated in Yarnton close to Oxford and Kidlington.

The firm, known as Oxford PV, has built its reputation as a pioneering entity in solar energy development and manufacturing since its founding in 2010, with expertise in Perovskite-based photovoltaic technology.

According to a Buckingham Palace statement, the monarch will examine Oxford PV, internationally recognised as a leader in advanced solar technology, to meet with staff and watch demonstrations of the technology.

After being greeted by senior management, His Majesty will be given an overview of the company and shown a presentation on perovskite, the innovative material that boosts the effectiveness of solar technology.

In the research laboratory, the monarch will speak with the technical specialists, look around the facility and inspect components using microscopic equipment.

Employees will inform His Majesty about the real-world uses of the solar panels and their ecological advantages.

The company’s ambition is to make perovskite solar technology the norm, with the improved efficiency of the panels enabling more efficient use of natural resources.

Oxford PV has been propelling solar progress since 2010.

By combining conventional silicon with innovative perovskite materials, Oxford PV’s tandem solar technology produces at least 20 percent more energy than standard silicon panels within the same area.

The organisation employs approximately 150 specialist staff worldwide, with roughly 60 workers based at its research and development centre and international head office in Oxford.
