The Oxford Mail has launched a commemorative book to honour a man who died in central Oxford.

Russell Bretherton sustained injuries that proved severe and fatal in the vicinity of St Mary the Virgin Church during the morning of May 10.

The Oxford resident, aged 52, had rang emergency services to report concerns about his health shortly before his death.

Safety fencing was put up at the entry points to Catte Street and St Mary’s Passage, which stand on either side of the city centre church, as well as along pathways close to the Radcliffe Camera behind the church on Radcliffe Square.

Senior coroner Darren Salter commenced the inquiry at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court on March 25 to look into the circumstances of Mr Bretherton’s death.

A full inquest is due to be held at Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court on June 30 at 2pm.
