Police have provided fresh details after two men from Oxfordshire were taken into custody and a woman required hospital treatment.

Thames Valley Police issued a statement following the arrests in Banbury on the morning of Friday, June 26, which followed an occurrence on Middleton Road.

Emergency services attended at approximately 7.30am, with paramedics, firefighters and officers responding to the scene, and a woman was taken to hospital for medical care.

A police representative has now confirmed the woman has been allowed to leave hospital and the two detained men have been freed.

According to the spokesperson, the woman was discharged from hospital. The men were released with no further action and the case has been filed.

In the wake of the June occurrence, South Central Ambulance Service declined to offer any further information while Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue stated they dispatched a fire engine from Banbury Fire Station.

Police later confirmed that both men, aged in their 50s and 40s respectively and both from Banbury, had been arrested.

At the time, the spokesperson stated officers attended a property on Middleton Road in Banbury at around 7.30am after receiving a request for help from the ambulance and fire services. A woman in her fifties was taken to hospital for treatment and remained there. Two men, one in his fifties and one in his forties, both from Banbury, were arrested on suspicion of assault and remained in police custody. This was an isolated incident and inquiries were ongoing. There was no broader threat to the public at that time.
