Oxford United holiday football camps return for Easter

Published on

Oxford United in the Community is bringing back its highly sought-after football camps for the Easter period.

The club’s official charitable arm will run its Holiday Camp initiative for young people between five and 13 years old.

The sessions operate throughout the school break and continue until April 10, open to both boys and girls regardless of skill level.

The programme aims to enhance children’s physical health, mental wellbeing, and football abilities.

Camps will take place at numerous venues, accommodating various age groups together.

A dedicated girls-only session will run at Oxford Academy between March 30 and April 2.

Younger participants aged five to 11 can attend a camp hosted by Easington Sports FC from April 7 to 9.

Those keen on futsal can join a session at Oxford Academy from April 7 to 8, also for five to 11-year-olds.

A futsal competition for under-7s through to under-10s will be staged at Oxford Academy on April 9 and 10.

Places cost from £25 per day, with season ticket holders receiving a 20 per cent reduction.

All revenue generated from the holiday camps goes back into funding projects throughout Oxfordshire.

The programme includes diverse activities designed to develop respect, sportsmanship, fair play, cooperation, and self-discipline.

Training covers technical aspects including passing, turning, dribbling, and striking the ball, before small-sided games in the afternoon.

All coaches hold FA qualifications and maintain current training in child protection, emergency medical care, and criminal record checks.
