A man has died and a woman remains in a critical condition following a collision near the county boundary in Worcester.

The pair were travelling on a motorbike when they collided with a car on Tunnel Hill at approximately 5.47pm on Thursday evening.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service stated that upon arriving at the scene, ambulance crews discovered the motorcyclist, a man, in a critical state while a member of the public was performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The ambulance personnel immediately took over the resuscitation efforts and continued providing medical assistance.

Despite their extensive efforts, the man could not be saved and was declared deceased at the scene.

The female passenger on the motorbike was discovered with life-threatening injuries. The medical team promptly commenced advanced trauma treatment before transporting her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital under emergency conditions.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received the emergency call at 5.47pm and responded with two ambulances, two paramedic officers, the Midlands Air Ambulance, the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and a BASICS emergency doctor.

Two air ambulances touched down at King George Playing Field at approximately 6pm on Thursday evening.

West Mercia Police have been approached for a statement.
