A34 northbound crash cleared after 50-minute delays between A44 and M40 J9

The AA reported a partially blocked carriageway and significant delays due to a crash on the A34 northbound near the B4027 Bletchingdon Road junction at Islip. Traffic backed up to the Peartree Interchange area.

A spokesperson stated there were severe delays building on the A34 northbound in Oxfordshire, with average speeds dropping to around ten miles per hour.

The incident occurred on the A34 northbound between the A44 Peartree junction and junction 9 at Wendlebury, creating approximately 50-minute delays against normal travel times.

National Highways indicated that normal traffic conditions were anticipated between 4:45pm and 5pm on 20 March 2026.

By 5:03pm, the earlier collision had been cleared from the A34 northbound section between the A44 Peartree and junction 9 at Wendlebury. All lanes were reopened and regular traffic flow was restored.
