Warmer conditions have brought new life to Blenheim Palace’s grounds, with an impressive lineup of events and experiences awaiting visitors.
The arrival of milder temperatures has turned the estate’s outdoor spaces into a spring display of flowering plants and new foliage, creating the perfect backdrop for a series of family-oriented activities and entertainment.
The Easter Eggstravanganza runs from April 3 to 6 and includes circus technique workshops, classic fairground attractions, and performances featuring live animals.
Medieval spectacle returns with the annual jousting competition from May 2 to 4, bringing historical drama and excitement to the estate.
The Blenheim Palace Food Festival takes place from May 23 to 25 and showcases renowned culinary experts, cooking presentations and numerous vendors offering edible treats and beverages.
A significant hands-on display called Blueprints of Power is now accessible and examines the career of Blenheim’s architect, Sir John Vanbrugh.
The Blenheim Palace Flower Show runs from June 19 to 21 and presents horticultural exhibitions, gardening ideas and pursuits suitable for visitors of every age group.
Children can make use of the Adventure Play zone equipped with rope slides, underground passages and apparatus for climbing, alongside the Pip and Posy Rainbow Treasure Hunt based on the well-known preschool programme.
Entry to the Formal Gardens and Parkland comes with a Palace, Park and Gardens ticket or through a Palace and Play Pass, which permits unlimited visits throughout the entire year.
Andy Mills, Blenheim’s head gardener, is drawing upon the gardens’ rich history to reintroduce overlooked features for guests to appreciate.
The grounds currently showcase in excess of 70,000 daffodils, with plantings on the South Lawn, throughout the Arboretum, and close to the recently established rock garden beside the Water Terraces.
The Secret Garden has also been updated for the new season and now incorporates a recently added living willow passage, while the recently established cherry tree pathway directs visitors toward the Rose Garden.
This section is undergoing restoration with 8,000 spring alliums and will eventually contain 200 heritage rose cultivars in 2027.
Crab apple trees have also been introduced to form a seasonal flowering route linking the Rose Garden and the Temple of Flora.
The kitchen garden within the 18th-century Walled Garden has expanded to double its previous size and is expected to achieve complete self-sufficiency by 2027.
Nearby, the Potager Garden will display vibrant pumpkins, squashes and a border of vivid, flame-coloured flowers later in the year.
The Palace and Play Pass is priced at £165 for a family of four. Individual single-visit tickets are £51 for adults and £41 per child.
