An investigation into the deaths of two individuals following a road collision is scheduled for this summer.

Kristof Csaba Csillag, aged 20, and Sameer Ali Akhtar, aged 19, lost their lives in July 2025 when the vehicle they were in struck two other cars along Daws Hill Lane in High Wycombe.

Mr Csillag was declared dead at the location on July 24, whereas Mr Akhtar succumbed to his injuries the following day at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Previously, during an inquest opening on December 1 at Beaconsfield Coroner’s Court, it was stated that Kristof had succumbed to trauma and fire injury and was pronounced dead by ambulance personnel at 9.14pm on the day of the collision following identification through DNA testing.

It has now been verified that the inquest for both men will commence on June 16 at 10 am at the same venue.

During an earlier pre-inquest hearing towards the end of last year, assistant coroner McCormick indicated she anticipates the date will provide adequate time for the investigation to conclude and for a forensic collision report to be finalised.

She mentioned that a period of three hours has been set aside for the inquest.

Several parties have been granted interested person status in the proceedings: the families of the young men, Thames Valley Police, and the insurance company for Sameer’s vehicle, which was among those involved in the collision, with legal representation from the firm Kennedys.

At approximately 7.40 pm on July 24, emergency services attended the junction of Daws Hill Lane and Kennedy Avenue in High Wycombe after receiving reports of a collision.

Three vehicles were involved: a black Audi, a grey VW Polo and a Honda Jazz.

In footage circulated online, firefighters were observed tackling a vehicle fire while another car was positioned on its side in the vicinity.

Emergency services swiftly established a cordon around the area, where members of the public observed firefighters tackling a blaze in the middle of the roundabout.

Two men from High Wycombe, aged 21 and 20, were taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the July 24 incident.

In the aftermath of the collision, numerous people posted commemorative messages on social media.

Ann Dilinchev expressed that they were deeply heartbroken by the tragic loss of two young lives, describing them as lives filled with promise, laughter, dreams, and so much potential.

She stated that to the families and friends, they wanted them to know that their hearts were with them.

She conveyed that they shared in the grief and stood beside the families in this time of unimaginable sorrow.

She expressed hope that they would find strength in each other, comfort in their memories, and healing with time.

Since the incident, many floral tributes have been placed at the location.
