A collection of nine breakfast cereal items stocked by leading grocery chains including Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s have been pulled from shelves over concerns about potential rodent presence.
MOMA Foods is removing multiple ready-to-eat porridge containers and packet varieties from sale following worries about possible mouse contamination at its production facility, stating they are unsafe to eat.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has urged shoppers not to consume the impacted items and to bring them back to the retailer where they were bought for a complete reimbursement.
The recall was issued on March 22, 2026.

MOMA Foods indicated that while the likelihood of any of these products being compromised is minimal, the company chose this action to safeguard its customers.
The company emphasised that no other items are involved in the recall.
MOMA Foods and FSA caution against consuming the products
Both MOMA Foods and the FSA have warned customers not to eat the nine porridge items listed in the recall.
MOMA Foods advised customers who have purchased these affected products to avoid eating them and to return the items to the place of purchase where a complete refund will be provided.

The FSA stated that notices will be posted at point of sale in all retail outlets stocking these items and on their websites. These notices explain to customers the reason for the recall and describe the steps to take if they have purchased the items.
When a food product develops a problem rendering it unsuitable for sale, it may be withdrawn from shelves or subject to recall when customers are asked to return the item.
The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to alert consumers and local authorities about food safety concerns.
In certain situations, a Food Alert for Action is issued.
This provides local authorities with details of specific actions to be taken on behalf of consumers.
