Aston Martin F1 in crisis mode as Horner not an option

A Formula 1 outfit has entered what sources describe as a state of emergency, but Christian Horner will not be the person to rescue it, according to media reports.

The 52-year-old Oxfordshire resident was removed from his position as Red Bull team principal earlier this year, bringing to an end almost two decades of service.

Mr Horner had led the Austrian outfit since 2005, during which period the team claimed eight drivers’ world championships and six constructors’ trophies.

The former team principal shares a home worth £9.2 million with his spouse, Geri Halliwell-Horner, situated where Oxfordshire meets Northamptonshire.

Reports indicate Mr Horner has been ruled out as a candidate for Aston Martin, despite the squad currently experiencing significant difficulties following a poor opening to the championship.

According to GB News, the Silverstone organisation is seeking to replace technical chief Adrian Newey following disappointing performances in two races.

Sources claim the former Red Bull chief is not being considered as a potential replacement for the role.

The Northamptonshire-based team has struggled badly in the early stages of the campaign, with drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll failing to score any points across the opening events in Australia and China.

Inside the operation, there is reportedly widespread dissatisfaction, with insiders describing mounting frustration and disillusionment among staff members.

Aston Martin has moved to dismiss the speculation, issuing a statement to address the circulating reports.

A team representative said the claims were unfounded conjecture and that the organisation remained steadfastly dedicated to Adrian Newey in his capacity as technical partner and team leader.
