Sainsbury’s and Tesco have responded to claims about their Oxford fuel outlets following reports of weekend closures.
Both retailers confirmed their petrol stations at their respective superstores operated normally on Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22. However, Sainsbury’s noted that its vehicle wash facility remains shut.
A Sainsbury’s representative stated that the fuel station at their Oxford superstore in Littlemore was serving customers as usual.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the car wash is out of action because of a technical problem.
Tesco indicated that its filling station on Ambassador Avenue in Cowley was trading normally.
The company reported sufficient supplies of all fuel types at the site.
The retailers’ responses follow claims made by a man who requested anonymity that the superstore fuel stations had been closed.
