The celebrated culinary figure Dame Mary Berry has shared that she felt an intense thrill when she went dancing at a nightclub in Ibiza.

The renowned food writer served as a panellist on the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off from 2010 until 2016, when the programme transferred to Channel 4.

Since 2019, she has resided in Henley, located in the southern part of Oxfordshire, alongside her husband Paul Hunnings.

The nonagenarian appeared on the Dish by Waitrose podcast where she discussed her enthusiasm for visiting a club in Ibiza.

During the episode, presenter Nick Grimshaw remarked that there was a circulating story about Mary Berry travelling to Ibiza and fully embracing the tequila.

Dame Mary grinned as she clarified that her trip to the Spanish island had been for a wedding celebration. She noted that all the women in the group had one particular venue they were determined to visit, which happened to be Pacha.

The establishment ranks among Ibiza’s most famous clubs. The 91-year-old remarked that while the men showed little enthusiasm, they accompanied the group, and she recalled thinking how truly exhilarating the experience was.

She described ascending the steps at Pacha and having a staff member mark her hand. She had never received such a mark before and found herself wondering whether it would ever wash off.

Regarding her experience inside the venue, she explained that the men went in one direction while the women went another, since the gentlemen were not particularly interested in being there.

She compared the interior to a labyrinth, describing it as cramped with multiple levels and corridors, with people throughout consuming drinks.
