The Park & Ride bus initiative will continue operating until at least the conclusion of May.

Initially launched in October, the programme provides complimentary return bus trips for as many as two grown-ups and three youngsters with each parking ticket at one of Oxford’s five Park & Ride locations.

This forms part of a broader sustainable transport effort associated with Oxfordshire County Council’s short-term congestion levy and receives backing from Oxford Bus Company.

Luke Marion, chief executive of Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel, commented that passengers throughout Oxfordshire would benefit from this announcement. The initiative maintains bus transport as affordable, eco-friendly and dependable. He noted that the programme is easing traffic flow and decreasing transit durations, creating opportunities to enhance other network operations. Lower traffic levels have accelerated bus services and allowed funds to be redirected towards improving additional offerings across the network.

The offer applies to Thames Travel, Stagecoach, and Oxford Bus Company routes serving these locations beyond just those branded as Park & Ride. Motorists must present their parking ticket to the bus driver.

Parking at Redbridge, Seacourt, Thornhill, Pear Tree, and Oxford Parkway sites costs £2.50 for stays extending up to 16 hours. The complimentary travel covers as many as two adults and three children per parking ticket.
