An artisan bakery located in South Oxfordshire has secured a place among Britain’s top food establishments after being recognised by the Good Food Guide.

The staff at Imma the Bakery in Stoke Row, close to Henley, South Oxfordshire, have collected numerous honours previously, though the newest recognition has left them feeling astonished.

Established by Tona Erreguin, who began their culinary career as a fine-dining chef in Mexico, roughly five years back, this village bakery crafts award-winning breads, sought-after desserts and handcrafted goods from a counter inside a warehouse-style cafe on an industrial estate.

Imma the Bakery has now earned a spot on the Good Food Guide’s 50 Best Bakeries 2026 list, supported by Square.

The bakery team released a statement expressing their surprise at the achievement. They noted that being included on the list felt extraordinary for their small establishment in Stoke Row, adding that the Good Food Guide had long been a publication they personally respected and followed. The team also expressed genuine pride at being included and extended gratitude to their hardworking staff who arrive early each morning and to the local community that continues to support their business.

Beyond this bakery accolade, Imma the Bakery has also claimed the title of Britain’s Best Loaf for its plain sourdough variety. Additionally, Ms Erreguin received the Baker of the Year prize at last year’s Baking Industry Awards.
