A detainee arrived at court in restraints with six heavily armoured officers providing security.
William Wall, incarcerated at HMP Bullingdon close to Bicester, attended Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday March 25.
The 36-year-old faces four charges relating to assaults on personnel at HMP Bullingdon last year.
The charges involve attacks on three prison officers and a medical practitioner.
Upon entering court, Wall engaged with Judge Michael Roques, who directed that a psychiatric assessment be prepared.
Wall expressed that he felt he was being treated unjustly and simply wanted to be released from custody.
He stated he was not a person prone to violence.
Following an extended exchange, the Judge mandated the psychiatric report for the subsequent court date of May 21.
As guards escorted him from the dock, Wall remarked he was someone who had made poor choices and described himself as a lost soul.
