The home improvement retailer Wickes has unveiled strategy to launch 70 additional outlets, which will generate approximately 2,000 employment positions across Britain.

The company published its yearly financial results recently and outlined its commitment to accelerate spending on expansion.

The retailer recorded a 5.9 percent boost in sales, reaching £1.63 billion, alongside a 14.4 percent improvement in adjusted earnings before tax, which stood at £49.9 million for the financial year ending December 27, 2025.

Wickes Chief Executive David Wood stated that this solid advancement positions the company to grow its store network from 230 to 300 locations.

These 70 new outlets are anticipated to provide more than 2,000 fresh job opportunities throughout the United Kingdom.

According to figures from the Office for National Statistics, UK joblessness climbed to 5.2 percent last month, marking a five-year peak, meaning this announcement will bring relief to many Britons facing economic difficulties.

Wickes also disclosed that its TradePro trade membership programme experienced a 9 percent rise in sales, with member numbers climbing from 581,000 to 643,000.

David stated that the company had delivered another year of solid advancement in line with its strategic objectives.

The business secured volume-driven expansion across all three divisions as its offering continued to attract customers.

He expressed gratitude to colleagues for their dedication and ongoing efforts.

In the retail segment, the company attained its highest-ever market share, with particularly robust performance in timber, tiling, flooring and paint categories. The TradePro programme maintained its strong momentum, expanding to 643,000 active members.

The design and installation division also performed well, having now registered five consecutive quarters of growth in ordered sales.

Given the favourable returns on investment from its established store renovation and new outlet programme, the company has announced plans to accelerate investment for continued expansion.

This strategy supports the goal of establishing 300 stores across the country, generating over 2,000 new positions as Wickes brings its unique offering to fresh locations throughout Britain.
