The Zero Carbon Oxfordshire Partnership has expanded with the addition of eight new members, bringing together organisations committed to emissions reduction and climate resilience across the county.
The newly joined groups represent diverse sectors including agriculture, environmental conservation, construction, and logistics.
FarmED, Earth Trust, and the North East Cotswold Farmers Cluster lead the agricultural representation.
CPRE Oxfordshire joins as the countryside protection body.
Housing provider Greencore Homes and construction firm Beard Construction represent the building sector.
Sustainable transport is covered by Velocity Cycle Couriers, while Darcica Logistics brings expertise in green logistics.
Councillor Anna Railton, who serves as Oxford City Council’s deputy leader with responsibility for planning and zero carbon initiatives, emphasised that addressing climate change demands coordinated action throughout Oxfordshire and across all economic sectors.
The growth of environmental expertise within farming, nature conservation, construction, and transport was cited as particularly encouraging.
The partnership already encompasses local authorities, public services, universities, businesses, and community groups.
These members engage through dedicated working groups, online seminars, events, and collaborative initiatives targeting emissions reduction and climate adaptation.
Current strategic priorities include sustainable transport, energy management, low-carbon building practices, climate adaptation measures, and green skills development.
The addition of the eight new organisations strengthens capacity across these areas.
Philip Sharman, chair of the partnership, noted the valuable expertise arriving from sectors fundamental to Oxfordshire’s net zero transition, spanning farming, natural environments, land management, construction, and sustainable distribution.
The collaborative framework enables participating organisations to share knowledge, establish beneficial networks, and address common environmental challenges together.
